RRCC Committee
Founder & Vice Chairperson
Mark Rodgers
In 2015 Karl, a few friends and myself decided to form RRCC.
A tragic loss to a Members Family created a very special bond which has and will always remain.
Our club brings together people to share the love of cycling and we are all here to welcome, encourage and support each other and new Members.

I have been cycling for many years but then stopped for several years…all sorts of reasons/excuses and doing other things. I saw a group of RR arrive to take part in a charity bike ride I had organised and I thought….one day I want to be in that club riding with them…and now I am. Lots of support and encouragement from them …and then did lands end to John o groats 2 years ago. Anything can be possible…..

I started road cycling in my teens. I then had a few gap years!! In 2012 my passion of cycling returned. In 2015 a very close friend's daughter sadly passed away after suffering from Leukemia. Myself, Mark and few friends decided to start RRCC and ride from London to Paris to raise money for Bloodwise. This charity (now called Blood Cancer UK) helped the young girl and her family. Help and support is now part of the clubs ethos. We continue to raise money for various charities and I am always amazed by our members dedication.

A late starter to this cycling lark. Got m first road bike in 2016 and found Ridgeway Riders in 2018. Have met so many great people through the club over the years and discovered so many cycling routes. Also pushed myself far more than I would have ever expected through cycling. A keen advocate for new members, in particular new and novice riders.

I began cycling on the roads when I moved down to Dorset about seven years ago, having previously only ridden off road. I remember my first ride vividly because of the support and encouragement I received as a very nervous beginner. My skills have developed now through the club, so that I feel confident to race bikes in time trials and ride up mountains. There is nothing better to make you feel good about yourself than being out, pushing personal boundaries in the stunning Dorset countryside. I feel privileged to have made some truly special friends through the club.
